I have been a antique enthusiast as long as I remember and a metal detectorist of 2 or 3 years now. Recently on eBay, I bought something that tickles my fancy in both subjects: this old deed. I bought this 1830 deed because it describes a piece of land on the Fisher River somewhere in my locale. I am hoping this old document can lead me to a treasure!(Or at least a coin or two) :-)
As of right now, I am trying to decipher the beautiful script of the early 19th century calligraphy. Their hand-writing fascinates me with all the little twirls and hooks. Only fountain and quill pens can make the lines have different thicknesses. Modern ball-points can only make same sized lines.
